Gripcoil

The ‘GRIPCOIL’ Thread Insert is a high-precision Screw Threaded Insert and is made out of austenitic chrome-nickel 18-8 stainless steel wire having a diamond shaped cross-section with a tolerance of .0002” to accommodate the internal and external threads simultaneously. The thread form of the insert is meant for double 60º for metric and unified thread series, double 55º for Withworth (BSW/BSF) Threads, Double 47 ½º for BA and so on. The formed wire is coiled into a helical-configuration with a bent tang at one end which is used for installation. When the insert is assembled in a tapped hole (tapped by GRIPCOIL special Tap), the GRIPCOIL threaded form presents a permanent internal thread which conforms to standard thread specifications.
